Job Description and Duties

The Correctional Case Records Analyst is responsible for calculating and modifying incarcerated person release and discharge dates, applying credits, enhancements, work credits, policies, and procedures to ensure that incarcerated people are confined and paroled from prison in compliance with existing laws, new legislation, and imposed sentences. This includes interpretation of appropriate laws and researching complex legal directives, as well as processing, maintaining, and controlling incarcerated person/parolee records, and acting as liaison with other units, institutions and agencies.

As necessary, the Correctional Case Records Analyst may act as lead person over other Records Office Staff.

This is a 12 month Limited Term position that may be extended to 24 months, with the possibility of becoming permanent.

Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If it is determined an applicant does not meet the Minimum Qualifications, the candidate will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position. Candidates who have been withheld may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board.

Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
