About the Role ALLIn Bio, Inc. is seeking an experienced and self-motivated medicinal chemistry leader who is capable of leading and executing discovery projects from hit identification to development candidate selection and beyond. The candidate should be a motivated drug hunter with a strong record of accomplishment in medicinal chemistry specifically and small molecule drug discovery in general and is competent in managing external CROs to deliver the results. This role will report directly to Vice President, Medicinal Chemistry and Technical Operations. What You'll Do Apply the key principles of medicinal chemistry, literature precedent, and drug design to direct medicinal chemistry programs in discovery stage, including hit identification, lead optimization, and development candidate selection. Lead or co-lead a discovery stage small molecule program, set the program strategy, design compounds, manage CROs, and drive SAR development forward. Manage ADME/PK, scale ups that are associated with the program whenever necessary. Present the rationale, strategy, and updates of the program chemistry efforts to scientists in other disciplines and to senior management. Understand and apply computational tools to the design of molecules. Think strategically in prioritizing series and allocating resources. Contribute to the operation of the functional group. Contribute to patent and scientific publication writing. What You'll Bring PhD in organic chemistry with 15+ years of direct experience in biotech and or pharma. Demonstrated capability in medicinal chemistry and small molecule drug discovery. A strong command of ADME/PK, preclinical safety, and basic pharmacology. Familiar with tools in SBDD. Experienced in multidisciplinary, dynamic and matrixed team environment. Effective in collaboration with teammates with diverse background. Strong organizational skills. Self-motivated, driven, strong problem-solving skills and scientific creativity. Strong track record supported by a significant publication record, filed patents and presentations.
