The eSports Manager will be responsible for the growth of the eSports programs at HPU, while maintaining a positive image in the eSports community. The Manager will contribute to student success through recruitment of qualified students who enroll at HPU for their education, and to compete on an eSports team. The eSports Manager will be responsible for the growth of the eSports programs at HPU, while maintaining a positive image in the eSports community. The Manager will contribute to student success through recruitment of qualified students who enroll at HPU for their education, and to compete on an eSports team. The Manager will oversee and manage the business operations of the arena. Compensation $53,000 - $60,000/year **Commensurate with experience** Full-time, exempt, on-site position Qualifications **Minimum Qualifications:** Bachelor's degree in communications, Business, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience Three (3) years in a management position Three (3) years' experience in the eSports industry Desired Qualifications Understanding and experience in eSports and/or experience in the competitive gaming environment Strong communicator; ability to work with diverse teams Innovative leader committed to delivering results Experience with eSports competition and console gaming Passion for video games Demonstrated ability to juggle priorities and deadlines in a demanding environment Social media experience Able to work flexible hours, including travel to attend competitions on weekends, evenings as required Prior event and/or tournament planning, organization, and budgeting experience Experience managing a team Experience in account management The ability to work with diverse personalities in various settings Passionate about eSports ports and taking care of teams and players, with the capacity to motivate and inspire others. Other Qualifications Must meet training and background check qualifications and comply with the Protection of Minors policy Able to work all shifts and extended hours to support the department, and may require work during HPU's winter break, if necessary Upon hire, the candidate must have reliable transportation to all HPU worksites and other locations as required by the position. Excellent time and stress management skills. Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions Operations (30%) Manage day-to-day operations of the Esports Arena Logistics planning and events management Audio Visual setup and maintenance Tournament planning and management Scheduling and management of technicians and student staff Setting of hours of operation and pay-to-play rates as necessary Oversight of the birthday party and arena rental business Program and Team Management (30%) Recruitment of students: The Director will be responsible for actively recruiting students to join the Esports program. This includes attending local high school events and establishing pipelines for Esports programs. Engagement and success of students: The Director will work to ensure that students remain engaged and motivated in the Esports program. Organizing team-building activities and working with academic affairs to facilitate academic support.
