Mortgage Lending Intern

Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid/On-Site)

Since 2011, RTC has funded hundreds of millions of dollars in private real estate loans across California. Internship Opportunity

Are you currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program or recent graduate eager to launch your career in finance and real estate? Do you want hands-on experience in mortgage origination, underwriting, deal structuring, and client relationship management?

RTC is offering a paid Mortgage Lending Internship designed to give motivated individuals the opportunity to gain experience and learn the fundamentals of private lending, and various aspects of real estate, while working alongside an experienced team. This internship program provides exposure to the industry and real deal flow in one of the fastest-growing sectors of real estate finance in today’s market.

What You’ll Do

As a Mortgage Lending Intern, you will support our loan originators and learn to:

• Assist with lead qualification and borrower communications.
• Learn how to evaluate borrower financials, property valuations, and loan structures.
• Support loan underwriting, documentation, and compliance requirements.
• Participate in networking opportunities, client meetings, and industry events.
• Maintain notes and borrower contact and deal information in our CRM system.
• Contribute to team projects and supporting company goals.

What We’re Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program or recent graduate, preference for a degree or working towards a degree in Finance, Business, Real Estate or related field.
• Interest in mortgage lending, real estate investing, and financial services.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM software is a plus.
• Experience with and interest in using AI software, such as Open AI, Google Gemini, etc.

Internship Details

• Duration: 2–6 months, with the potential for full-time employment upon successful completion
• Compensation: Paid internship (hourly rate)
• Schedule: Flexible, part or full time, 10-40 hours/week
• Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid: in-office/remote)
