Position Responsibilities - States name andamp; informs patient on where they are to be transported
- Uses proper body mechanics when positioning, lifting, turning, and ambulating patients
- Assists in care and maintenance of department equipment, wheelchairs and stretchers and ensure equipment is clean and in safe operating conditions
- Notifies nursing staff when patient is leaving the unit and when patient returns back to the unit
- Ensures that patient's chart is alongside when being transportedAssures all transports are completed within the time parameters assignments
- Collects all specimens and blood products and safety delivers to the receiving department
- Demonstrates a positive attitude when transporting andamp; speaking to patientsChecks all oxygen cylinders prior to transport to assure tanks are full and are in safe condition
- Correctly checks in and out of the patient transport system, and input the correct pager number when checking into work
- Maintains CPR Certification
Qualifications - CPR required or must be obtained while in training.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Customer service ability develop cooperative working relationship with other staff members and all other personnel.
- Ability to transport patients in a safe efficient and professional manner.
- Ability to operate portable radio.
- Skills in reading and writing Standard English text.
