Entity: Owensboro Health Regional Hospital | Department: Patient Transport | Work Hours: Based on operational need | Weekend Requirements: As Needed | 0.0 FTE

Job Summary:

Transports patients, specimens, and equipment throughout the facility.

Job Responsibilities:
  • A Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed to designated sites as requested, including patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, monitors, and other equipment.
  • Provides continuous oxygen to patients by setting the oxygen tanks to the same level already being provided.
  • Assists patients with entering and exiting vehicles, including transfer from or to wheelchairs or stretchers.
  • Delivers equipment and specimens to requesting team members or department.
  • Assists team members with removal of deceased bodies from units and transport to morgue.
  • Greets and provides information and direction to patients and visitors.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
  • Works under minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Position Requirements:

Work Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years relevant experience preferred.
Education
  • High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher preferred
Licensure/Certification/Registration
  • BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position
