Do you enjoy working with your hands, learning new skills, and being part of a team that values safety and quality? If so, we want to hear from you! QSSI's PEMCO Lighting Products Division is currently seeking a motivated and dependable Powder Coating Apprentice to join our team in Wilmington, DE.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who may have little to no experience but possess a strong willingness to learn and grow within a dynamic environment. No prior extensive experience is necessary—just a positive attitude, a desire to develop new skills, and the ability to pass a Medical Evaluation and respirator fit test.

What You’ll Do:

As a Powder Coating Apprentice, your role will be instrumental in supporting our production and finishing processes. You will work closely with experienced team members to learn the ins and outs of powder coating and basic assembly tasks. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting Powder Coating Processes: Help operate and maintain powder coating equipment under supervision, ensuring proper application and coverage.
  • Color Matching & Application: Assist in mixing powder coating colors according to specifications and applying coatings using electrostatic spray guns or other equipment.
  • Quality Inspection: Support visual inspections and basic testing to identify coating defects or inconsistencies, ensuring all finished products meet quality standards.
  • Assembly & Packaging: Learn to assemble lighting products and other items using hand and power tools. Assist with packaging finished products securely for shipping, including labeling and wrapping.
  • General Site Maintenance: Help keep the work area clean, organized, and safe, adhering to all safety protocols and OSHA requirements.
Who You Are:
  • Enthusiastic Learner: You are eager to develop new skills and grow within the manufacturing industry.
  • Safety-Minded: You understand the importance of safety procedures and are willing to pass necessary medical evaluations and respirator fit testing.
  • Reliable & Punctual: You take pride in showing up on time and completing assigned tasks diligently.
  • Detail-Oriented: You pay attention to details, ensuring work is done correctly and to quality standards.
  • Team Player: You work well with others, communicate effectively, and are committed to a positive team environment.
  • No Extensive Experience Needed: Prior experience in powder coating or manufacturing is a plus. We value willingness to learn and a proactive attitude above all.
Why Join Us?
  • Comprehensive Training: We provide hands-on training to help you develop valuable skills in powder coating, assembly, and quality control.
  • Career Growth Opportunities: Start as an apprentice and have the chance to advance into more skilled roles within our company.
  • Supportive Work Environment: Join a team that values safety, quality, and employee development.
  • Competitive Compensation & Benefits: We offer a competitive wage structure along with benefits designed to support your health and well-being.
  • Stability & Community: Become part of a reputable company committed to long-term growth and community involvement.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break

Pay Range : $19.00/hour - $25.00/hour, depending on experience; paid bi-weekly.

401k: The Company offers up to a 4% match
