Job OverviewWe're looking for a Sound Designer / Re-Recording Mixer who can deliver pristine audio quality for high-end productions. This role demands hands-on experience in crafting immersive soundscapes and mixing audio with precision. Youll be expected to manage both in-studio and on-location sessions, adapting to varied environments while ensuring that every project meets uncompromising broadcast standards.Key ResponsibilitiesSound Design & Mixing:Create and refine immersive soundscapes that elevate narrative and visual content.Perform re-recording mixing for dialogue, sound effects, Foley, and musical scores to achieve a balanced, broadcast-ready soundtrack.Utilize advanced digital audio workstations (e.g., Pro Tools, Nuendo) and state-of-the-art mixing consoles to process and enhance audio elements.On-Location & Studio Sessions:Travel as required for on-location recording, troubleshooting, and mixing sessions to ensure audio quality is maintained in any environment.Oversee and conduct remote sessions as needed, ensuring consistency between studio and field recordings.Collaboration & Technical Support:Work closely with directors, editors, and producers to align the audio track with the overall creative vision.Provide technical support and troubleshooting during recording sessions, addressing any issues with hardware, software, or acoustics swiftly and effectively.Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices in both recording and post-production audio processes.Project Management:Manage audio assets, maintain organized session files, and deliver high-quality, finished mixes within strict deadlines.Stay current with the latest audio technologies and trends to continuously innovate and improve the production process.Required QualificationsExperience:Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in sound design and re-recording mixing within a professional broadcast or film environment.Demonstrable expertise with high-end digital audio workstations, mixing consoles, and relevant audio software.Technical Skills:In-depth knowledge of audio processing, effects, and mixing techniques.Proven ability to troubleshoot technical issues on the fly in both studio and on-location settings.Soft Skills:Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.Adaptable and efficient, with the grit to handle the fast pace of production environments.Travel Readiness:Must be willing and able to travel approximately 1020% of the time for on-site recording and mixing sessions.Possess a valid drivers license and be prepared for occasional international travel.Salary & BenefitsSalary Range: $80,000 $130,000 per year (This range reflects competitive compensation based on experience and project demands.)Benefits Package:Performance incentives and opportunities for overtime.Comprehensive healthcare coverage, including medical, dental, and vision.Travel reimbursements, per diem allowances for on-location assignments, and other travel-related benefits.Access to professional development, state-of-the-art audio technologies, and ongoing training opportunities.Final ThoughtsThis is not a role for the faint-hearted.
